The ride home was most interesting to Thom and Shadow. Captain Cattitude talked about Egyptian culture and how it has affected his species on Catmoon.

“In Egyptian times cats were considered gods and goddesses because it was thought we protected the home with our hunting skills. Back on Catmoon, all cats are taught how to hunt for food at an early age. In Egypt, we hunted snakes, rats, mice, and scorpions. We helped reduce the population of these perceived pests. The cat, Mafdet, which goes back to the fourth millennium BC, was thought to protect people and their homes against these dangerous or food spoiling pests. When we came to Earth, Eypgytians thought we were the new gods come to protect their families. They immediately realized we were different from Earth Cats. They quickly saw we had logic and felt feelings. Thus, we were highly intelligent and brought knowledge to the Egyptians. As I told Shadow before, the pyramids existed because we had the knowledge and brainpower to help the Egyptians carry through their plans. On Catmoon, we still mummify our deceased and create mini pyramids to bury them in, We have no crime and murders as you do on Earth. Each cat is considered to be a god and should be treated with respect and love,” said Catpain Cattitude. “Shadow, since you are female, on Catmoon inhabitants considers you a priestess, and you are highly regarded as a mystical creature that has magic powers, which you do,” he concluded.

That last comment got Shadow on the “power” one-track mind again. “What powers do I have. When will you show me how to access them?” said an enthused Shadow.

“When I think you are ready. Now, please don’t bring it up again until I bring it up,” said Captain Cattitude.
