Shadow woke up early again and was even more excited about her training than yesterday.\u00a0 \u201cPhoebe, just waking up, looked over at her friend from her bed and said, \u201cWhat are you learning today?\u201d\u00a0 \u201cI don\u2019t know but it should be exhilarating,\u201d said Shadow.\u00a0 \u201cLook at what I learned yesterday,\u201d she continued. Shadow placed her left paw on her head and started to recite Mafdet with all her mind and heart.\u00a0 She began to rise up into the air.\u00a0 \u201cWow, Wow,\u201d was all Phoebe could say.\u00a0 Shadow brought herself down by performing the same steps but thinking down with all her heart and mind. \u201cWhoa,\u201d said Phoebe to herself.\u00a0 \u201cCome on let\u2019s go eat breakfast.\u00a0 I hear Captain Cattitude is making meals for the day,\u201d said Shadow as she pulled Phoebe out of her bed.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two raced to the dining room table.\u00a0 On the table was mixed fruit, boxes of cereal, coffee for the adults, orange juice and milk.\u00a0 Shadow picked Lucky Stars, cereal with marshmallows shaped like stars Phoebe elected to just have milk and juice.\u00a0 She was worried she would get fat eating the sugar-loaded cereal.\u00a0 Everyone else came to the table and began to eat.\u00a0 Shadow finished first.\u00a0 \u201cAre we beginning our training after breakfast,\u201d she asked Captain Cattitude.\u00a0 \u201cYes, we have a long day ahead of us.\u00a0 This next power is going to be hard to learn,\u201d he replied Shadow waited impatiently as everyone finished their breakfast Her back paws were twitching up and down as she sat in her chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOkay Shadow, let\u2019s go,\u201d said Captain Cattitude as he stood up and began to make his way to his room.\u00a0 Shadow quickly came up behind him, her tail swaying back in forth in anticipation of what was to come. As they entered his room, Captain Cattitude said, \u201cHave a seat.\u00a0 I need to explain the importance of this next power and how to use it only for good.\u201d \u201cThe next power is mind reading.\u00a0 It is very important that you don\u2019t abuse this power.\u00a0 In the wrong hands, this could be very damaging to someone.\u00a0 Please only use it when it is necessary.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cOkay, I will,\u201d said Shadow, a little nervous now about this new power. \u201cOkay, let\u2019s begin,\u201d said Captain Cattitude.\u00a0 Stand up and wiggle your tail back and forth while wiggling your ears and recite Bastet over and over.\u00a0 Concentrate on me and focus your mind on my mind.\u00a0 Shadow tried but failed.\u00a0 We will do this all day until you get it.\u00a0 Shadow practiced all day and still couldn\u2019t muster the power.\u00a0 She began to get frustrated. \u201cWell, it\u2019s five o’clock.\u00a0 I think we have done enough for today.\u00a0 Tomorrow we try again,\u201d he said.\u00a0 \u201cWhy am I not getting it,\u201d asked Shadow. \u201cAs I told you it\u2019s a hard power to master.
