The Alien Security Council Code-named Operation Milky Way (OMW) met today.  Select world leaders who were invited to the meeting included Vladimir Putin from Russia, Xi Jinping from China and Angela Merkel from Germany as well as President Trump of the United States and Shadow who was first contacted by Captain Cattitude.    The agenda they discussed was the imminent visit of Captain Cattitude from planet Catmoon. “This is the first time mankind will have contact with an Alien.  We should show caution but be open to communication with the species.  And remember to show brotherly love to our visitor,” said Merkel.  “I believe we should show force so the Alien knows they can’t take advantage of Earth,” said President Trump.  Shadow sat and thought “here we go again.”  She promised she would remain quiet, so she kept her mouth shut. “Mr. Trump is right.  We need to show this new species we have a military force willing to fight for our Planet,” said Putin.  “I agree,” chimed in Jinping.  Shadow had enough. She couldn’t stay quiet.  “We need to show we mean no harm.  He has shown no threatening patterns to us.  His communication we were studying was simply a computer glitch.  There was no code in it just simply the synthetic nature of the computers interrupting the message as they were malfunctioning.   We can study the message all we want, and we won’t find any threatening message in it.  I know.  He told me about the glitch and sent the corrected message to me.  Please, I beg you to reconsider showing force.  It may just trigger force his species taking military actions themselves.  He only found us because of the message, the Arecibo interstellar radio message we sent into space in 1974 carrying information about Earth and humanity.  By doing this went looking for him,” said Shadow.  “Agreed,” said Merkel.  “We need to show his species we are a loving race,” continued Merkel. 

President Trump, Putin, and Jinping all just shook their heads in disgust.  “I think we have a response.  We will have a military presence at his landing site,” said President Trump. “And that’s that.” He said calling the meeting to an end.  “Next meeting we should discuss what kind of military force we want present at the landing site and the Halloween Welcoming Dance Party Shadow already promised to Captain Cattitude.” Shadow left the meeting feeling sad over what occurred.  She hopes we are not making a mistake by showing fear and not love.
