Shadow, a kitten living in Reseda, Calfornia with her caretaker, received a message from outer space through her interactive satellite dish that she built from spare parts around her apartment. The message came from Captain Cattitude from the planet Catmoon who is searching for life outside his own universe. He picked up Shadow’s satellite signal and sent her a picture of himself (surprisingly, he looks just like cats on Earth) announcing he would like to visit Earth. It’s a historical moment as this is the first time man has made contact with an Alien. Unfortunately for Shadow, the government finds out about the transmission and interferes with Shadow’s Cat-Extravaganza welcoming Dance Party. The government headed by the President creates a committee called Operation Milky Way (OMW) to plan out how they will greet the alien. At the first meeting of the committee, guests that Shadow invited to the Dance Party are looked over and those considered questionable are removed from the list. Phoebe, Shadow’s best friend is removed from the guest list because of the way “she dresses like a harlot,” according to President Trump. Shadow swears she will get her BFF Phoebe into the party if it’s the last thing she does. At the second meeting of OMW after a hieroglyphic type message is sent to Shadow, President Trump is concerned that Captain Cattitude will not be friendly and will be a threat. President Trump believes the scrambled message is a threat. He declares that when and if he shows up (Captain Cattitude missed his deadline to meet Shadow) the government will show him we have a military force. Shadow is worried this is going to give the wrong message and that we should greet Captain Cattitude with open arms. Thus continues our story….

Shadow, I’m sorry I missed our deadline to meet. My ship’s computer system had a failure and it took me off track. I sent you a message, but I was afraid it would have been misinterpreted as it was scrambled during transmission. My current trajectory puts my arrival date on October 31st.
